Driving directions from Lihue Airport: On Ahukini Rd., turn left onto Kuhio Hwy. 56. Once you go through Lihue Town, turn to the right and merge into Kaumaulii Hwy. 50. Stay on Kaumaulii Hwy., following signs to Koloa. Turn left on Maluhi Tunnel of Trees Hwy. 520. At the end of Maluhia Rd., turn left onto Koloa Rd. Turn right on Weliweli Rd., which will be the first street. Stay on this road until you come to Koloa-Poipu Bypass Rd. Stay on this bypass until you come to the Poipu Rd. intersection. Drive straight across the intersection onto Pe'e Rd. The Embassy Vacation Resort will be on your left.

Spacious enough to be condominiums, the suites are decorated island-style. Each suite has a full kitchen with lots of counter space; a washer/dryer; two phones; a carpeted living room next to a tiled dining area; a barefoot-friendly carpeted patio or balcony; and a master bath with deep soaking tub, roomy stall shower, and twin sinks. In the seating area, an entertainment center contains a large TV with cable, pay movies, a VCR, a CD player, and a video game console. Bedrooms are air conditioned, while ceiling fans cool all other rooms. Garden View - These suites provide views of the resort's beautifully landscaped grounds, including tropical gardens, koi ponds, and waterfalls. The ocean can be seen from their balconies. Ocean View - These suites provide views of the ocean from bedrooms and living rooms as well as from their balconies. One Bedroom - These suites offer one king bed and a queen sofa bed in the living area and accommodate a maximum of four guests. Two Bedroom - These suites offer one king bed in the master bedroom, two twin beds in the second bedroom, and a queen sofa bed in the living area. They accommodate a maximum of six guests.

What to expect: Arrayed on 22 spacious acres, the resort offers several vacation options—one centered on the lagoon pool, another on the adults-only area, and a third on the wind-swept bluff above the vast sweep of the Pacific. During the winter migration season, everyone thrills at the sight of humpback whales from the bluff. Amenity highlights: The lagoon pool has its own sandy beach on one side and a grotto hot tub on the other. In a secluded area overlooking the Pacific, the large adults-only hot tub is surrounded by a sundeck and furnished with barbecue grills. To the east, Shipwreck Beach lies within strolling distance for surfing, boogie boarding, and beach-walking. Insider tip: A cove near Building Eight serves as a residence for seven friendly Hawaiian green sea turtles.

Situated among the natural contours of its hillside-and-bluff site, the 215-suite resort comprises 10 two-and-three-story buildings. The terraced hillside features a tropical garden with koi ponds, a waterfall, and a lagoon pool.
